I am starting to despair....
I tried using DAQmx (see thread): http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=250&message.id=53078#M53078
I tried using VISA (see thread):http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=140&message.id=38839#M38839
Tried to find a way in NI-Sync to do it...seems that library doesn't even have a way to browse systems...and yet it ask for the device name to start a session...
Here is the PXI-6682 manual:http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372292b.pdf
At this point... if ANYONE ever succeeded in showing the PXI-6682's device name at run-time...
Please show me the way, because I'm starting to think it was just never meant to be found...
Although MAX does it...so it must have a way to be showed
If I need to download anything to make it possible just tell me and I'll do it...

Hey Seb,
I do not think there is a way to programatically discover timing cards through NI-Sync. The way that will return something will be through VISA calls. I will play around with this and will continue this thought in your VISA thread.
On your thought in the VISA thread though, I believe you're right on a more PXI ish return. Ours shows up as PXI2::4::INSTR in MAX. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the reply, and I will gladly take any lead because for now every NI-Sync use "Dev11" which is terribly static.
Hope you have more luck than me in the matter 🙂
Thanks again,
Seb
