I have loaded a PC with 3 daq cards 6321,6321, and 6363. Sometimes after a reboot one of the 6321 cards will show with a RED X (white icon) in the M&A making it unusable, however the Device Manger still sees all three cards and claims they are working properly. When we see this error we proceed to delete the item, 'Reset Configuration Data' in M&A then reboot, this brings the 6321 back to Green and we are able to use the system normally.
Why would one of the cards randomly change to a Red X?
Why is it always the same card?
Why does a 'Reset Configuration Data' and reboot resolve the issue?
If this is some sort of Discovery bug with M&A, is there a mechanism to lock in the M&A settings to prevent the Red X?
We are using NI DAQmx 9.3.5
I've attached an image of the M&A and Device Manger for reference.

Hi zeekial
I check the internal forum of NI and found a solution for you.
Actually your problem comes from the driver software. Our driver software cannot uniquely a device in a system with multiple PCI buses in certain circumstances. In particular, if two of the same models of card are placed in slots on different buses that have the same slot path, the cards will fail to be distinguished. Slot path is a function of the PCI device and function numbers of the card and of any intervening PCI bridges between the card and the root of the bus.
This problem is fixed in DAQ 9.8, I may suggest you to upgrade it on www.ni.com and let me know if it works.
Have a good day.

The issue was not fixed with an update to DAQ 9.8 or later. The board now displays in the M&A Explorer as a different icon without a name. See below.
