Missing devices in max "Create New"

Hello,

I have a situation. I have just completed a clean install of LV 8.5. When I go into MAX to add a simulated device all that is in there is a RTSI cable.

Also when I plug in a USB-6008 I think it was detected fine but I don't recall it showing up in MAX.

What would cause this?

I have tried to reinstall and deleting the max configuration but neither seem to fix this issue.

Thanks.

What version of DAQmx did you install? Is it listed in MAX under 'Software'?

Everything seems normal, except this issue. The version installed is 8.7.2f1.

Hello FargoDude,

The easiest thing to do would be to just take a little bit of time and install the latest version of DAQmx. The only reason you wouldn't want to do this is if you are working with LabVIEW 8.0 or earlier.  I know you said this was a clean install, but updating to the latest version will relink everything in the background and will help to ensure everything is working properly.

Cole, thanks for the suggestion, I will try that. I was not too sure about compatibility, so this is good to know as well.

Is uninstalling first, necessary or does the install handle everything?

The reinstall should handle everything you need.  If you have any questions on compatibility between versions of DAQmx and LabVIEW, you can always check this KB.

Update:

Reinstalling with the latest drivers did not solve the issue, but repairing Daqnx did fix it.

Problem solved.
