I have a brand new out-of-the-box Dell Optiplex 745 (actually 7 of them) running Windows XP. I installed Labview 8.5 (new academic site license). I installed NI-DAQmx. Then I installed the PCI-6251 in one of the PCI slots. When I restart the computer, it does not detect new hardware, and MAX does not list it under Devices. It does not appear on any list when I try to install hardware manually.
There is what appears to be a place to plug in a disk drive power connector on the PCI card, but I did not receive a cable to go with that (or whatever you call those flat cables inside a computer), and from what I can gather from the installation guide, it's optional.
I read in the knowledge base that there is a known issue with the M-series, where the PCI slot does not provide 3.3 V to the card, but I checked the Optiplex specs and it claims that it does. I have not measured it myself.
I have the same issue on the second computer. I have not installed the cards on the rest of the computers yet. Ideas? TIA.
