Hello,
Our labs are using a PCI-MIO-16E-1 DAQ board.
When running the latest release of (Fall 2009) NI software (Labview 2009, CVI, Drivers, etc.) regular users (non-admin) are having varied success in running the MAX test panels for the traditional device. It will work fine for one user and the next user will run into the 'grayed out' test panel issue.
I have granted full access to C:\Program Files\National Instruments as well as to C:\Windows\niconfig.daq (which helped with the issue in previous versions.
I have tried running SysInternal's 'Process Monitor' to see if there were any obvious permissions issues, but this doesn't explain why it works for some and not others when the users have the exact same rights on the local machine.
Windows XP Professional with SP3
Dell Optiplex 960
4GB Ram
160 Gig HDD
Any ideas?

Hi,
Have you downloaded the LabVIEW 2009 patches? There have been 2, one of which addresses permission issues. Both patches are encompassed in the second patch linked here. I recommend installing the patch first to see if the behavior is remedied. Hope this helps!

We are running the latest f2 patch and it has not resolved the issue.
We still have sporadic test panel access issues with non-admin accounts.

Hi Brian,
Try the steps in this document that detail how to give non-administrators full control over NI products. This should eliminate the need to give them access to particular programs.

Hello,
The steps outlined in the document have already been followed (as mentioned in my initial post). Users have full access to the NI folder but still seem to run into the issue.
