NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 not installing

Solved!
Go to solution
I'm trying to install my DAQCard-6024E on an old laptop. I'm using the NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 software that came with the card. When I try to install the software it says the computer doesn't meet the minimum operating system requirements. The laptop is running Windows 2000 and has an Intel Petium 3 Mobile 800MHz with 256MB RAM. According to the Readme file for the NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 software, for Deployment, the recommended processor is a Pentium 3 600MHz or equiv, 256MB RAM, and Windows 2000/XP. Can anyone help me figure out why this won't install. It appears to me that all of my OS requirements are being met.

Matt,

Do you have the latest Windows 2000 Service Pack?  I believe the last service pack was SP 4. Try updating to the most recent service pack and then installing the driver.

Thanks Seth. Updating to SP4 seemed to do the trick. That should really be put as part of the operating system requirements. Thanks again, Matt
