Hi,
i've just installed 2 PCI-6251-DAQ-Cards in a industrial pc and it seems, that they both aren't recognized correct by the NI-MAX.
Here is what i see in MAX:
I've installed the NI-DAQmx-Drivers which came with the cards (Version 8.6) before inserting the cards into the slots. After inserting the cards & starting windows again, the automatic driver-installation of windows seemd to work just fine (no error-message, ...).
The MAX shows 3 Devices because i've allready tried to move the 1. card to another free slot in my computer...
I'm allready downloading the new NI-DAQmx (Version 9.0) but the 1.3 gb still need some time, so my question is now, if you have any idea, what else i can try beforehand?
My second question is the following:
The cards have a connection of which i don't exactely know what it's worth for and how i can plug it in (the black one in the middle of the image):
The installation-manual that came with the card says something about a additional power-source and that one should plug it to a disc-connector or some other source (for better analog performance, i think) what i don't really understand because ide-disc-connectors in a pc definitely don't fit into this plug (1 pin too much in the middle...). Can someone explain this to me?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Regards,
mik

Hi
installing the latest DAQmx driver is a good idea. Otherwise you can try a different pc or different slots for your boards.
The second question is described here:
http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371022k.pdf (page 41)
So you won't need it for the beginning.
