NI USB-6501 not recognized by the system

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello all,

I wrote this simple application that writes and reads an SPI frame.

My PCs have Labview 8.5.1 and DAQmx 8.7.1 (the CD was included with my NI USB-6501 device). Everything runs correctly.

But now I need to distribute the application, and I need to run it from a computer that doesn't have Labview installed.

I installed the latest versions of the LV runtime engine (8.6), and the  DAQmx 8.7.1 software, but the program crashes outputting an error (code 200477).

I tried to install a newer DAQmx software (8.9 full, 8.9 runtime engine only), but the situation didn't change.

Furthermore: I tried on two different PCs, and I launched MAX: one of them doesn't even recognizes that a DAQ device is installed (although Windows recognizes it as a working peripheral).

Anyway, both PCs return error 200477.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards

Update:

Ok MAX recognizes the device, it was only a matter of administrative privileges.

But error 200477 is still there...

Is it dev4 on the pc without LabVIEW? You can easily see the device name in MAX.

I'd like to hide myself into a hole.

Well, thank you!
