NI6501 installation name

Hello,

I am develloping an application using a NI USB -6501 peripheral with .NET C#.

The NI USB-6501 is installed with the name "Dev1" so then I need to initialise a task like that

digitalOutputWriteTask = new Task();

digitalOutputWriteTask.DOChannels.CreateChannel("Dev1/Port0", "", ChannelLineGrouping.OneChannelForAllLines);

If I replace my NI USB-6501, the second one is installed with the name "Dev2". The application cannot run anymore.

Is there a software possibility to detect which 6501 is present and read its name?

Or is there a possibility to create a USB-6501 setup that always installs a peripheral with the "Dev1" name?

You can use that function to recover the name of your device. NationalInstruments.DAQmx.DaqSystem.Local
