Hi, I have several installations on the field where I'm experiencing issues with NI9234 or NI9230 modules coupled with cDAQ9181. These systems are installed in end line test machines for motors. Among the other tests, surge and hipot instruments are mounted on these machines. The NI923x are used to acquire vibration signals. The issue I have is that sometimes (in some circumstances, very often) the connection with the chassis goes down. When going to the MAX I see the NI923x in error or in gray. To restore, I have to unreserve the chassis and self test it. Obviously, this is not acceptable in an industrial machine. I tried to add an overvoltage suppressor done with 2x 15V zener diodes in anti-series in the accelerometer inputs, but it doesn't solve the problem. Any suggestion? If I don't manage to solve I have to abandon NI for my industrial applications. Tnx..

This is a good topic to talk about with NI Support.

Thank you. I tried to get in touch with NI support for this issue but I got no solutions. The only answer was to go to MAX and reset from them, that is of course not a solution. Let's see if other users managed to solve this kind of issue. Tnx
