Well I finally got bit by the 64 bit driver lack!!! Up until now as Joe carefully pointed out, Macs will boot to a 32 bit kernel by default. I was helping someone install LV and drivers on a new machine and they kept failing. Turns out new machines default to 64 bit kernels and you need to know the arcane way of setting the machine to continually boot in a 32 bit kernel.

It would be nice if NI started on the idea of a 64 bit driver set for Mac OS X. VISA needs to come first and get the nipal kext running and then NIDAQmxBase and IEEE-488.2 will follow. At least compile it for 64 bits and see if it runs?
