Nidaq693 error 10243

I have a friend who is trying to install a DAQ1200 card in her system. The version of Labview 7.1, the driver is Nidaq693. She is getting an error message: Error-10243 occurred at DIO Port Config. Possible reasons NI-DAQ LV.The driver could not locate or open the configuration file, or the format of the configuration file is not compatible with the currently installed driver. Does anybody have any hints as to the problem or solution? Thanks ~~Les Hammer

LabVIEW Error 10243

Problem: LabVIEW Error 10243

NI-DAQ LV: The driver could not locate or open the configuration file, or the format of the configuration file is not compatible with the currently installed driver.

Solution: This error can occur for the reasons stated above in the error output statement, however, it can also occur as a result of insufficient Windows permisions (such as non-administrator user account status) for the current user on the machine getting this error. For example, if an administrator creates a MAX configuration file (or virtual channels), this (these) may not be accessible to all users (such as a Restricted users, a Windows user account status). The quick fix is to log onto the machine as an adminstrator or have an administrator change the user's account to administrator status. For Windows XP, it may be sufficient to simply make the user a Standard user (in the power users group), however, Windows 2000 seems to require adminstrative permissions. Below are instructions for modifying a user's account status:

1. Log on to the machine of interest as an Administrator (so you can modify user accounts).
   
2. Go to Start -> Control Panel, double click User Accounts, then double click the user whose status you would like to change.
   
3. To make a user a Standard user, select Standard user, click Apply and then OK (to make a user an Administrator, select Administrators from the Other: drop down selector in the account properties window).

Hmm, she claims she's logged on as Admin and is still having the problem.

Hey Les Hammer,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  If she is logged in as administrator, here is something else she can try.  This knowledge base (I will paste it below) will explain how to fix this problem.  Since she is using NI-DAQ 6.9.3 then she can ignore the first part of the KB.  Give this a try.  If it does not work, let us know and we will look into it further.

All my LabVIEW DAQ VIs return error -10243

Problem: Whichever DAQ VI I run I get the following error:

Error 10243 occurred at an unidentified location.
Possible reasons:
NI-DAQ LV: The driver could not locate or open the configuration file, or the format of the configuration file is not compatible with the currently installed driver.

Solution: For NI-DAQ 6.1 or earlier:

Make sure you run the NI-DAQ Configuration Utility, Test the DAQ Device, and Save the configuration file. Also make sure that the version of NI-DAQ that you have installed is compatible with the version of LabVIEW you are using.

For NI-DAQ 6.5.1 or later:

The first time you install your board you must create a configuration file, follow these steps:

1. launch Measurement&Automation from your desktop
2. Expand Devices and Interfaces
3. Right click on DAQ board and select properties
4. Press Test Resources button ( Hopefully you will get "The Device has passed the Test")
5. Close Measurement&Automation
6. Try to run your program

I had the same problem

 What worked for me was to make a copy of the NanoDAQ shortcut from the desktop and paste it in the C drive - Program file - National Instruments - NI-DAQ  folder ..and after that worked..
