Hi--I've been using the OEM (board only) versions of USB multifunction DAQs in my designs for years, but they seem to be increasingly difficult to find information about them--I can't find a single OEM USB DAQ on the NI website directly (I can find product documentation links via Google, but the results aren't comprehensive, and I don't see any options to purchase OEM DAQs).
None of the usual national distributors seem to have anything in stock. After month's of pestering my NI rep, I was able to get this list back in Oct 2022, but even if I search the NI website for these part numbers, I'm unable to get pricing or the ability to order:

Are these still being offered by NI? Does anyone have a comprehensive list of current OEM USB DAQ offerings? Why is NI making it so damn hard for us to buy these products???
Thanks!

Hi Sandheep,
NI has made it increasingly difficult to purchase OEM versions of their DAQ products. In the years past you could just buy the OEM versions of the DAQ board from their webpage, even in low quantities. Now it's more like a case-by-case basis, and depends on if your NI rep is willing to push for you internally.
Earlier this year, they've announced that the M-Series DAQ (62xx) are being discontinued by end of 2023. This might also explain why they're unable to respond to OEM DAQ requests.
Which models are you looking for in particular? You can probably find it on ebay, or from sources like the NI Trading Post. There may be other companies or users who have surplus parts that fit your design.

John--thanks for the response. It's sad to hear my experiences confirmed by yours.
If anyone at NI is listening--please do not discontinue the OEM versions of your USB DAQs! There are those of us who still use these, who have made them the cornerstone of projects. Using the enclosed versions of the DAQs makes for a wiring nightmare, but the OEM versions enable elegant solutions. Imagine what a rat's nest of wires would be required if this project couldn't make use of an OEM DAQ with a custom PCB:

I need three USB-6216-OEM p/n 197504.01 now for existing projects. If anyone is willing to sell theirs, Please call Tony at 817-265-6435.
I recently placed an order thru Testforce for five USB-6216-OEM part number 197504-01. They tell me that NI accepted the order and delivery is 11 weeks, May 2024. And a quantity discount is available for 10. Good till end of 2024. I think I may need to buy more. Do you think I can expect them to actually deliver? Any updated news about production on this board?
If anybody has any information about what is really going on, or what the minimum is to get them to do a production run, please share. In the mean time, I am biting my nails.

I've been using NI OEM cards for 17 years now ! And the other solutions for 28 years !! That's not without first having used the kind of cards that plug into the PC with a thick cable behind it, leading to a tiny box with screws inside that you can't do anything with. How, indeed, do you build and connect a special signal conditioning board in that context? OEM boards offered a unique solution that we no longer have. Clearly, I'm not going back to these plug-in PC cards. These are old, obsolete solutions. USB connections today allow for perfect interfacing and have no limitations in terms of speed, etc. Maintenance is also very easy when the client, who is neither a computer nor electronics technician, is thousands of kilometers away (which is my case). The only solution then is to pay travel expenses for me to come and insert the card into a new computer (it's always the computer that breaks down first). Whereas with a device equipped with a USB connection, the client can unplug and replug it themselves, and I can install the software remotely. That's the difference!
But as I said, it's clear I'm not going back to "external box" solutions. There are plenty of manufacturers of data acquisition boards on the market; it's not just NI. So goodbye NI / "Emerson", you won't see me again.

The new NI mioDAQ all come with OEM variant. Better spec and yet more affordable. Check it out if you haven't.

Good to know. I wish the mioDAQ had as broad of a product line as the other USB OEM DAQs, but at least we got something.

You can select options between OEM or normal variant with enclosure.
