PCI 6713 FIFO size

Hi, I have a quick question regarding FIFO size of 8-channel analog outpout card PCI6713. It has a FIFO size of 16384 (12-bit samples). Suppose I only use one channel for buffered output, do I have an effective FIFO size of 16384 or 2048? Thanks!

Hi eLions,

You would be using the full FIFO size regardless of how many channels you use. This is because the samples that are generated by the DAQ card have to go through the First In First Out buffer to get to the physical AO channel. The size of the FIFO buffer just talks about how many samples we can have "queued up" in the DAQ card before outputting them as a signal.
