Reg NI 6210

Hello,
This is Haritha, a Master's student at Oklahoma State University.
We are working on a project to collect EMG (Electromyogram) signals using NI DAQ 6210 and 9234 boards interfaced with Myoscan Sensors from Thought Technologies.
However, for the same EMG electrodes' configuration, we are getting good results using the NI 9234 & not so good results using the NI USB-6210. We have two NI 6210 boards with us.
I want to make some points:-
1. Our Input Voltage range is in Millivolts(-5 to +5). We are amplifying the Raw EMG with the MyoScan EMG Amplifier from Thought Technologies and then trying to acquire the Amplified signals through the USB-6210 DAQ.
2. We are trying to do this data acquisition in LabVIEW. I am attaching both the codes for your reference.
3. We are using Differential mode to collect the data.
4. We are connecting the inputs based on the pinout configuration given in the website. We tried connecting AI 1 ( channel 17) and AI GND ( channel 28) to the output from Thought Technologies Sensor Isolator.
I am attaching the Screen-shots of the outputs and the codes for your reference.
I want to know the reason of this difference & how can I fix the problem with the 6210.

Thanks,
Haritha Srinivasan

Hello Haritha,

In order to use the AI 1 of the 6210 in differential mode you have to wire the signal to pin 17 and pin 18 ( please use the attached image as a reference ). This is one of the most probable reason why you are getting bad readings when using the 6210. However the 9234 has additional signal conditioning circuitry ( filters ) that the 6210 does not has.

Hello,

Thanks a lot. It worked.

Anyway the result is not as good as NI 9234. I think it is because of the resolution of 9234.

Thanks,
