Plug for DAQ card PCIe-6323

Solved!
Go to solution

I am struggling to find a plug that can be used to interface to the DAQ Card.  It is a 68 pin VHDCI plug.  The one we have been using - MOLEX 71425-3001 is no longer available.  Any suggestions?

The Honda part you identified is the PCB mounted item.  I am attempting to purchase the cable-mount mate to that.  The Molex part identified in the NI website is obsolete. [https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/15/ni-daq-device-custom-cables--replacement...]

Some companies are offering custom made cable assemblies and reference the Molex part as well.  I find phrases like 'still supporting' indicating that the VHCDI format is dead - but there must still be a source for the connectors used in the cable sets that NI offers.

Still looking ...

I have asked Honda if they make the needed item as their data sheet is vague.  Thanks for pointing me in that direction

The MOLEX VHDCI is interesting with IDC. In general, it looks like the market is not significant for these, and it may be best to stock them up when you have them or redesign them with alternatives.

I have seem the VHDCI cables of NI using the PCB mount version of the VHDCI connectors and the micro coaxial cables directly soldered onto the pads on the PCB. The metal housing of the VHDCI connector houses the PCB with the VHDCI connector.
