I am running NI-ELVIS 2.0 using Labview 7.1. When I run the function generator, the frequency is stuck at ~30 kHz and can not be changed with the panel vi. I can adjust it using manual mode, however. What is going on?
Thanks,
David

Hello David,
It would be helpful to explain a little more about what is happening in your setup. If the Function Generator front panel is grayed out and that's why you can't adjust it in software then you need to flip the switch on the NI-ELVIS away from the "manual" position. This will enable software control and the soft front panel will work. Since you said it works in manual mode I'm guessing you're already aware of this switch, but its always worth checking.
If you're able to change the controls on the soft front panel, but the actual output doesn't update then it would be helpful to know the following:
1. What DAQ card is controlling the NI-ELVIS?
2. How are you measuring the function generator output--are you routing it to an analog input channel?
3. Has this worked in the past?
4. Can you change any parameters other than the frequency output? Amplitude? Offset?
Let me know what you find and we can take it from there.
Cheers,
