Problem with my NI 9205 module. Possibly broken?

Hi,
I encountered a problem yesterday when taking a measurement with my NI
9205 analog input module.  The electrical system in the building tripped a circuit
breaker and I lost power to my cDAQ-9172 chassis and computer. When I got the power
back and everything up and running I couldn't read in any voltages. LabVIEW
is telling me that it doesn't see the 9205 in the system and when I open
Measurement and Automation Explorer it doesn't recognise it as being in the
system either.  Does it sound like a problem with my hardware or is there a
quick fix for this?

Hi all,

Just a little further info i'd like to add. When i try to run LabVIEW with the module connected the warning message it gave was:

"Device cannot be accessed. Possible Causes:

    Device no longer present in system

    Device is not powered

    Device is powered but was temporarily without power

    Device is damaged"

The first 3 all seem ok so looks like the device is damaged. Does anyone know can these modules be fixed or will it have to be replaced?

Hi Vince,

It sounds like the card may have been damaged by the power issues.  I would try the card in different slots in the chassis and if possible in a different chassis.  If this still does not help then I would suggest it sounds like you need a repair or replacement.  To do this please contact NIUK at ni.com/ask or on (01635) 523545 and we can process a return or replacement for you.
