Problems with SCC-FT01 and new USB-6251

I recently had to upgrade to new computers and am having some difficulty.

Previously using XP with PCMCIA cards, SC-2345, and the SCC-FT01 (connected to a Signal Generator and Oscilloscope via BNC cables, alligator clip to wire into feedthrough module & SCC-SG01 (connected to a strain gage on a piece of metal).

New computers have Windows 7, and using USB-6251 in lieu of the PCMCIA cards. Get a fabulous reading for the strain gage, but just a straight line for the signal generator. Oscilloscope says signal is being generated. (have tried without oscilloscope in-line, too).

Any ideas why the FT01 isn't happy? Have tried swapping out modeules for a different FT-01, too.

Hi Colleen,

Have you tried connecting the signal generator directly to the SC-2345 without the SCC-FT01? Do you then get your signal? According to the product page, the SCC-FT01 is for E Series, whereas the USB-6251 is an M Series device. I'm not sure if this would prevent you from using it with M Series but if you can narrow the problem down to the FT01 module then we can troubleshoot further.

Cindy

I've never wired directly to the SC-2345, but am willing to try - do you know where I'd put the +channel & grnd wires?

Thanks,
Colleen

OK - I rechecked a few things, and I *think* it may have been set up as the wrong version of the SC-2345.

Either way, it's accepting the signal from the signal generator!

Thanks for helping Cindy 🙂

Hey Colleen,

No problem! After doing some research, I don't think my suggestion was viable... so I don't know how much help I gave. I'm more familiar with DAQ than the T01 and SC-2345 but I am glad you figured it out!

Have a great rest of your day and good luck on your project!

Cindy
