Sampling from two different locations?

I have a need to sample temperature and voltage from two different locations. (10 t/c's and 10 voltages in one & 12 t/c's and 6 voltages in the other). I need cheap solution (PXI is too pricey). Anyone have any information on how to multiplex from these two locations to one logger system? What hardware would you recommend? Thanks!

Mack Information Systems has a 21 CFR 11 system (pending?) that is ready to go! They call it Plexxium

Ohterwise you could put this together using FieldPoint systems but you would have to do all of the development yourself.

You choose!

Just trying to help,

Ben

Thanks for the info Ben. I reviewed the mackinfo site and there are some interesting products there.

However, I am looking to do the software myself. I can seem to find much info on multiplexing using NI hardware - or how to choose and configure a system that needs to have sensors in two distant locations. Do you have any recommendations on a FieldPoint configuration? How do you muliplex it?

Just for reference, I also found the following off-the-shelf monitoring solutions out there:
http://www.logicbeach.com and
http://www.microtherm.com

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

From what I understand, you want to monitor data in 2 locations?

What is the separation between both locations?
Does the sampling have to be correlated at both sites?
What is the accuracy and precision of the thermocouple measurements (and voltages)?
More importantly, what is the price range you are trying to meet?

Based on this information, I will be able to search for an NI solution.
