Scaling DAQ input by 0.5 produces unrelated errors

Hi everybody

I am getting a strange behaviour when trying to scale input channels by 0.5. It does work for 0.1 , 1 , and so on but not for 0.5.

The error that I am getting is strangely "max Input range out of value: max 4.99999". The DAQ I'm using is a NI USB-6251 which after specs has an input range of +-10V.
As mentioned above this is only the case when scaling by 0.5, not with other or no scaling of the inputs.

How does the scaling affect the input range? If I assume that some data type is out of range, it should be the same or worse with scaling by 1 wich is clearly not the case.

Actually changing the input range to +-4.9V helps since I have installed LV8.5. Before with LV8.2 I was getting another error later in the aquisition stage that was not resolvable.

Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks in advance

update: I now realize that the AI.Max is scaled data, not Input voltage. Obvious, isn't it?

Now I have to find a way to calculate the max value for each scaling, isn't there a better way? Doesn't look like default or no input seems to work..

cheers
