Serial Port not found by Labview

I have a LabView program that read data back from a serial port.  It works well on my computer.  When it is installed on the user's computer by the user, it will not recognize the serial port.  The port can work normally with other software. So it seems the serial port hardware or driver is OK.

The Labview I use is Version 8.5.  The application is released as an EXE files.  The running engine is installed on the user's computer with DAQmx Version 8.9.5 DVD.  I have asked the user to reinstall the driver.  But the problem is not solved.

Anyone has experiened similar problem?

Thanks in advance for any tips and suggestions.

Why would you install DAQmx? That has nothing to do with the serial port. When you wrote the program, did you notice that all of the functions were 'VISA' something? Why don't you recreate the installer and this time, include the NI-VISA runtime.

p.s. It's also a good idea to include MAX.

We use the USB-DAQ Box (6211)  and the serial ports to monitor the tested system.  We need to read both the USB-DAQ and the serial ports.

Well, you did not mention anything about any other hardware and it does not change what I said about installing the correct driver for the serial port.
