Serial number for PCIe-6320

The serial number on the packaging of our PCIe-6320 cards is not the same as the serial number returned in software using the instructions from the NI knowledge base https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z000000kEsJSAU&l=en-CH

The outer packing has a serial number given as e.g. SN: HE3585200 whereas the serial number returned from NI MAX (for dev 1) is 02405821 (which does match a value printed on the inner packaging) . Does anybody know why this is?

NI hardware always has a serial number in the form of 7 to 8 hexadecimal numbers.

The serial number HE3585200 is for the packaging box plus all the contents including the module and cables (if any).
