Hi,
I need to measure the frequency of several input signals (1k to 200k) with PCI 6024E DAQ cards. What signal conditoning hardware do I need to do this the easiest and cheapest way? ie: convert frequency to a voltage
Thanks
Curt

And, for those range of frequencies, I think the SCXI form factor would work. Have a look at the SCXI-1126.

A couple of observations:
- The max sampling rate of the PCI 6024E DAQ is 200 kS/s, aggregate. This means this clock rate is shared between all channels. If you are using only one input channel per card, you could achieve 200 kS/s/channel, but if you use two channels, this will be divided down to 100 kS/s/channel. This is described in the E-Series User Manual.
- This is relevant because even at a 200 kS/s rate, you can only reliably gather frequency information from signals slower than 100 kHz according to Nyquist. For faster cards, check out M-Series DAQ.
