Simultaneous use of PCI 6024E (old) and BNC 6210 (new) possible?

Solved!
Go to solution

Dear all,

I have updated to NI-DAQ 8.9.5 to get the BNC 6210 working. I also have an old PCI 6024E installed. After the update, MAX shows the PCI 6024E and all tasks configured for this device with a little red x. The tasks do not work (error message -200477: no device configured), and while I can select the PCI 6024E in the Ni-Daq devices section, the button for the test panel etc. is greyed out.

According to the NI-DAQ 8.9.5 readme, both the BNC 6210 and the PCI6024E are supported for my XP system.

Any clues as to how I could get both working?

Howdy WildEnte!

If the device is greyed out then MAX is not seeing it in the system.  Please check in Windows Device Manager to see if Windows can recognize the PCI-6024E (it should appear under the "Data Acquisition Devices" section). If the device shows up in Device Manager with a yellow exclamation point try updating the its drivers (Right Click>>Update Driver Software...).  If the PCI-6024E does not show up at all in the Device Manager power down the machine, verify that the PCI card is properly inserted, then restart the computer.  If that does not fix the problem try changing PCI slots to determine if the slot has gone bad.

Thanks for the reply. I fixed the problem by uninstalling NI-DAQ 8.9.5 and installing 8.9 (because 8.9.5 didn't want to work with my LabView 7.1). Now both devices work just fine.
