Kexdaja,
Thanks for contacting National Instruments. There seems to be a misunderstanding of how MAX works and the drivers themselves. LabVIEW 8.20 utilizes the newest versions of DAQmx (8.3) and NI-DAQ (7.4.2). These are available on the Driver CD's that came with your LabVIEW CD's. Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) is a utility that we use to keep track of things like hardware, tasks, virtual channels, global system settings and so on. Only one version is installed on a PC at a time. If you installed the drivers from the Driver CD's (3 of them) you probably installed NI-DAQ 7.4.2, and if not you can reinsert those CD's and install it.
To verify what you do have installed, open MAX and expand the software folder. There will be an entry for NI-DAQmx, and when highlighted will show the version on the right, and an entry for Traditional NI-DAQ, which again, when highlighted will show the version on the right. You will see your PCMCIA DAQCARD in Device and Interfaces and then under the Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) section. It will not show up under NI-DAQmx.
In terms of versions, the 4.1.0.3001 is the version of MAX, not DAQmx. Your DAQmx version should 8.3. And again, MAX will only be installed once at any given time on a system, and all new drivers include the newest version of MAX, and it will upgrade MAX if a current verison exists, but it is still a seperate entity.
Let me know if you have further questions after checking your versions and installing any missing drivers from the CD.

Kenn North
