Trigger Scheme for two 6534s and one 6110E

Hello,

I have a trigger scheme in mind, I want to know if it will work. I have to 6534s and one 6110E. I am attaching the word doc with it which describes my trigger scheme and questions.

I do not have option of SCSI Trigger.

Looking at your document,

I think your application is possible, just not exaclty as you have done it. As I understand, you cannot have different triggers for different ports/lines on the same board. You will want to use the same external trigger to start all of the acquisitions within one board.

The 6110 definitely supports triggering, and you should be able to search for a triggering example on our website or in your shipping examples.

Greetings,

I thought about this a little bit more, and I realized that I was mistaken with what I wrote in my last post. You CAN in fact have two independent triggers on the 6534 -- that slipped my mind.

I do not think you will have too much trouble accomplishing this. What are you programming in? If you are programming in LabVIEW or CVI, you can easily find examples by going to Help >> Find Examples.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your replies. Actually I am still wondering how I trigger DIO ports of 6110 board. That is still not solved. I want the Port C of 6534#1 to trigger all other. It must be possible to collect samples from all the ports simultaneously. How do I accomplish this using LabView. I know how to config for trigger but don't understand how the acquisition is going to work.

Drew,

I did not catch this in your original question. The DIO lines on the 6110 board cannot be clocked or triggered. I thought you were talking about the analog input on this board, until I went back and re-read your document. The DIO lines on this bard are "static". You can use software to turn them on and off, but they cannot be clocked. Because they cannot be clocked, they cannot be triggered.

Hope this helps,
Anuj D.
