USB-6003 with DAQExpress reading 42.4mA for a 4-20mA signal.

I have a USB-6003 with a differential signal input from an instrument on Analog Input channels A0 and A4. The analog output signal is reading 6.6mA on the instrument but the signal on the computer with DAQExpress is reading 42.4mA. The instrument is wired correctly and the signal cable is grounded, why would DAQExpress read out a signal of 42.4mA?

USB-6003 is not inherently capable of measuring current which means you must use an external sense resistor to cover the current into equivalent voltage which can be read by 6003.

What is the resistor value you're using and have you entered this resistor value in the DAQExpress during setting up the task for current input?

I have installed 550 Ohm resistors, and changed the DAQExpress settings to voltage. the USB-6003 is now collecting a voltage signal from all my 4-20mA instruments. Thanks.
