USB 6221, Half way through installation of driver, wants "NextToINF" CD for nixsrkw.sys???

I am trying to install a USB 6221 DAQ. I have installed

the “NI Developer Suite – NI Device Drivers DVD”, I have also installed the CDs
that came with the DAQ, namely “NI-DAQmx 8.7.1” Disk 1 & 2. In the past when ever I plugged in a USB 6221 DAQ it would install the drivers for it automatically after instructing windows not to look online for drivers, and then the install nomal (Recommended) option to search for drivers.

 

This time however while it was installing the driver, half way through it wants me to insert a CD called “NextToINF” that did not come with the
product, nor has google ever heard of it. And it wants the file “nixsrkw.sys”
off this CD, which google has also never heard of. This DAQ is brand new and works on another PC, but I have to get it working on my PC urgently for developement reasons.

 

Any help will be greatly appreicated.

I'd recommend downloading a new version of the driver from ni.com.  What operating system are you using?

I am pretty sure I know what the issue is but you should never see it with a released version of NI DAQmx.   As far as I know, no other customers have reported it before.  Did you have a previous version of DAQmx installed, possibly a beta version? 

nixsrkw.sys is the driver for your USB-6221.

Which is the correct driver for USB-6218? My Windows 7 computer says it is using nixsrkw.sys. I need to verify if this is the corect and only driver. My application crashes each time my DAQ function is called.
