Hello,
I updated my NI-DAQmx to 21.0. The NI-DAQmx 21.0 readme states that the USB-6251 is supported. However, after the update, it doesn't.
Please, should I do something else?
Thank you.

Do you see the USB-6251 detected by NI MAX?
What do you exactly mean by, "it doesn't"?

Hi,
Thank you for your prompt response.
The NI MAX doesn't detect the USB6152.
When I plug it into my laptop the initial window with the test and configuration buttons appear and disappear very fast.
Might it be related to any configuration in my laptop?

This is a knowledge base with some debugging steps: NI DAQ Device or Module Does Not Appear in LabVIEW And/Or MAX - National Instruments.
I am assuming that you are using Windows because USB-6251 is not supported on Linux. Is the NI device showing up in Windows device manager?

Hi Jerry_X
Thanks for the link.
No, the NI MAX doesn't show the device. In fact, it wasn't working for a while because I updated the NI MAX from 09 to 20. However, on the readme of the NIMAX 21 is stated that the USB 6251 is compatible.
Every time I turn the USB 6251 on the ACTIVE led blinks and the device manager window pops up for a fraction of a second and disappears. After that, my device remains with the ACTIVE led off and the READY on. Which, if I'm not wrong, means "The device is configured, but there is no activity over the bus" https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z000000P8ooSAC&l=en-US .
On the other side, my laptop USB port is 3.0, But I haven't had any issues with my devices whatsoever. MyDAQ, MyRIO, USB-6210.

Hi Jerry_X,
I solved the problem!
While reading the material on the Knowledge base you sent me, I found out my device was working properly.
Then I decided to delete the device from NI MAX.
Now is perfectly working!!!.
Thank you for the "nudge"

No kudos for nudge?

I just read with great interest some comments that the NI-USB-6251 is not supported in Linux.☹️ Is there an additional way to confirm this? Does NI put out a comprehensive list of which devices and Labview versions are compatible?
I have a working USB-6251 and am beginning the process of seeing which Labview versions (Windows and Linux) it would be compatible with.
Thanks!

I'm using Labview 2020 Windows student edition. I had the same compatibility issue with a USB-6251. The NI-DAQmx 21.0 and newer solved it, but you need to disconnect your device and delete it from the devices list in the NI-DAQmx. Once you plug it in again, it should work.
As far as I know, the USB-6251 is not compatible with Linux.
Hope that helps you,
