USB-6501 Interactive Control.llb with LV7.1 Version

Hi all

I had the NI- I/O decvice called NI USB-6501.
From the forum, i know that it had the testing program to test it which is "USB-6501 Interactive Control.llb".
However, i am using LV 7.1 version but the llb request 8.2.1 or above.

Therefore, can anyone help me to convert to the LV 7.1 version.

Thanks

Steve,

The DAQmx860f12.exe file is a self-extracting zip file.  It works on my XP machine so I am not sure why you are getting this error.  You should be able to extract the files from the archive using a third party unzip program.  For example, you could try 7-zip which is an open source free zip utility to extract the installation files from the self-extracting archive.

You can get 7-zip here:

http://www.7-zip.org/

Please post back to let us know if you were successful.  You could also try to download a fresh copy to see if something was corrupted during the download.

Steve SO,

Your original question was about the interactive control llb. Now you say you are having problems installing DAQmx (which I also can download/run). The lb you asked for uses DAQmx base and not DAQmx. What are you really wanting to use?

Hi Brian F

When i run the NI-USB Interactive control, it will occur the below error.

"Error-200220 occured at any unidentified location. Possible reason(s): Device identifier is invalid"

and can see the graph in below: Is it relative to LV7.1 version??? i had installled all relatived driver and the Device Name is correct.

Moreover, i would know to know how to use this VI. Is control the voltage output in P0.<0..7> or other things

Thanks

Best Regards

Hi Steve,

The USB-6501 can be used with either DAQmx or DAQmx Base when the firmware is loaded onto the device.  Since you are running Windows on your computer, the best driver is DAQmx which you have previously downloaded.  However, the ineractive control you are trying to use is only for DAQmx Base.  The example finder in LabVIEW under the Help dropdown will have the DAQmx examples for use with your device.  Now in order to check which firmware is loaded onto the USB-6501, you can check in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and you will know it is DAQmx if it shows under that heading, or it will be DAQmx Base if it shows up as an external device in MAX. This Knowledgebase should help you should you need to change the firmware...
