I want to use USB X series DAQ device with Labview 8.2. Unfortunately I have to use DAQmx 9.2 or later that is not compatible with Labview 8.2. In the specification it is clearly mentioned that the device is supported in Labview 8.2(extract below)
“X Series devices include multithreaded NI-DAQmx driver software, which is compatible with the following versions (or later) of NI application software - LabVIEW 8.2, LabWindows™/CVI 7.x, or Measurement Studio 7.x; LabVIEW SignalExpress 1.x; or LabVIEW with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module 8.2.”

Hey CE11,
It says that X series is supported in LabVIEW 8.2. And it is. If you have a look what drivers you can use, the newest version available is 9.1.1 (NI-DAQ and LabVIEW Version Compatibility (for Windows)) The most important thing is to check if this driver supports X series (see NI-DAQmx 9.1.1 readme.html). You will find out, that X series is supported, but not USB versions.
I believe it is because USB versions were released later than that driver came out. I think support for USB X series was added into DAQmx 9.2, therefore I believe that to use USB X Series, you will need LabVIEW 8.5 or newer. If the card was recomended by National Instruments sales representative or Engineer that it should work (i don't think so), then I think you should contact directly your local NI team.

Stefo

Thank you for the reply, but it is clearly listed on the same page the USB device(also known as an x - series device). Before buying the device I also specified to the sales representive I will be using Labview 8.2 and I also had to complete an end user agreement clearly stipulating what it will b e used for and the software I will be using. But then again from the tone of your reply I must be the idiot!!!.

Now I see what you are saying. In fact I beliebe that my statement is correct anyway, and i believe that we have a bug on our web page. I believe you need to have DAQmx 9.2 to be able to use USB versions. I created correction request #281268.
Unfortunately, this will not fix your case. Therefore, I believe the best would be to contact directly sales representative of National Instruments for your country. I believe we will find satisfying solution for you.
