Hello-- I am looking to work with a USB 6501, and was hoping to utilize some of the sample programs I had seen referenced in the manual and the forums.
I do not have the included software with the device, and have not seen it available online. Is there someplace I can download it from?

It would help if you specified the programming language you intend to use - LabVIEW, LabWindows, .NET, etc.
You do need the DAQmx driver for whatever language or for use with SignalExpess. A free version of this application is included with the device.

Ah, sorry for the confusion. I plan on using a variety of languages, but for now, I would like to get it working with LabView.
I do have the DAQmx driver, and am able to communicate with the device. I am looking for the included software, which should include Signal Express, as well as the sample templates, which I seem to have misplaced.

When you install the driver, example LabVIEW VIs will also be installed. Not sure what installs the free SignalExpress but you don't need it if you are going to be using LabVIEW. The full version of SignalExpress is available for download and a 30 thirty day evaluation period. Just do a search.

I have the software installed, which I was able to download from the NI site. It did not include the relevant sample programs that are referred to. I am wondering if there is any way to get those...

At the LabVIEW splash screen, select "Find Examples" to launch the NI Example Finder. On the Browse tab, navigate to Hardware Input and Output>DAQmx. Here you will find all the DAQmx examples, including Digital and Counter Measurements. Were you able to find NI DAQmx in the Example Finder during your initial search?
