VI Logger task triggering by manual events possible?

I have inherited a project to log thermocouple readings.

We have a SCXI-1001 chassis with 1102 amplifiers and 1303 terminal blocks.  We have VI Logger 2.0.1 and MAX ver. 4.0.0.3010.

We would like to begin a single task to conduct 16 separate sample runs with a manual trigger event between each run.  A keyboard press event would be ideal.  The data would then be viewed in Excel.  We are trying to stay away from 16 separate files to combine.

Does task triggering support this type of manual event?  If not, is this possible in some other way with what I have listed above or is additional software required?

Thanks for your time.

Thank you for posting on the NI Forums. VI Logger is capable of using "events" but not events like what you are wanting to do. The events that VI logger is capable of handling rely on the channels that are being measured. There will be no support for user events. If you are wanting to do something with a User-Triggered event you would need to look into LabVIEW. LabVIEW has the ability to set user defined events and will give you many more options as well. Hope this helps.
