VI Logger

This is with my last posting "Ni-4351 and TC-2190" and just tried to load my VI Logger CD.  The problem I was having and still having when I run the installation is it stoppes at the following screen:

setup.exe

the message with the screen is "The instruction at "0x%08lx" referenced memory at "0x%08lx".  This memory could not be "%s". 

Then I click on OK and the installation stops.  Do I have a bad CD, something not installed correctly on the NI-4351?????

You should be able to find a driver download at the ni-Website, that way you can verify wether it's a bad CD.
I also remember having seen such cryptic error messages somewhere on the boards, but no clue what keywords could be used to search for that.

What I would do in that situation is a clean reinstallation of the complete driver set. So remove all drivers (propably including DAQ, DAQmx and VISA) and the card. From that point on following the instructions (in the past there where several problems with NI products when people just tried to install without reading and following the manual, and the 4351 is and older device as indicated by the traditional DAQ drivers).

Hi Scamper,

Try copying the CD's contents to your hard drive and then running the copied files directly. If this does not work I would try the other suggestion of uninstalling your drivers and then installing VI Logger. Make sure that you can see your devices in Measurement and Automation Explorer as well.

Thank you both, Felix and PBear.  I did uninstall and reinstall once, but am willing to do it again.  As for the VI Logger that is a software which needs to be purchased from NI.  I think I have another copy and will be looking for it.  I did drop a message to an NI Engineer to see what they say about the message.  But thank you both for your messages and suggestions.  I will keep you posted on the out come.
