What is the correct order for installing VI Logger, NI-DAQ, DAQ hardware, VI Logger?

I have just received my PCI 6014 DAQ board which has come with NI-DAQ version 6.9.3 and VI Logger version 1.1. The DAQ "Quick Start Guide" instructs me to load the application (such as Labview) first. I do not want to use labview but NI-DAQ only with the VI Logger software. Should I ignore step 1 (installing Labview) and go ahead and install NI-DAQ? Should I install the card after this and VI Logger last as the 'guide' seems to suggest? Can I install VI Logger, try out the software features and install the hardware last?

I would suggest installing NI-DAQ 6.9.3 first. Then perform a customer installation of VI Logger. Make sure you do not install the NI-DAQ that is packaged with LV logger, because you will need 6.9.3 or newer to use the 6014. You can omit the LabVIEW instructions and I would suggest installing the hardware last.
