Where can I download the runtime engines for NI-DAQmx 8.5 ?

I am deploying an application written using the C API in NI-DAQmx 8.5. I would like to ship a small runtime version of NI_DAQmx with my application. I have found runtime versions of the 8.3 drivers here but can not find the runtime versions for 8.5. Can anyone tell me where to download them?

Thanks,
Chris.

Hi Chris,

Currently I think the only run time versions of DAQmx available are 8.3.1. The DAQmx 8.5 installer will allow you to only install a subset of the components, but if you just want a smaller installer to distribute with your application then you would have to use version 8.3.1 run time. Unless you are using functionality or devices added to the 8.5 version of the driver then you could downgrade the version of DAQmx on the development machine to 8.3.1 and then distribute your exe with the 8.3.1 run time files.

Thanks for your reply Jon. Downgrading to 8.3 is certainly an option but I am concerned that the runtimes for 8.5 have not yet been made available - I don't want to be stuck with 8.3 forever! Do you have any idea when/if the 8.5 runtimes will appear?

Thanks,
Chris.

Hi Chris-

It is possible (read:likely) that current and future versions of the DAQmx Runtimes will be made available for download.  We have not yet created and tested the standalone DAQmx 8.5 Runtime versions, so that explains why they're currently missing from the website.  If you contact your local support office, an applications engineer should be able to create an equivalent DAQmx 8.5 runtime installer for you using the LabVIEW application builder.

Hopefully this helps-
