Why does my AT-MIO-16XE-10 not work in Windows 2000?

OS is current w/ sp2. Using Ni-DAQ 6.9 and LabVIEW 5.1.1. Board will not properly install, regardless of computer (tried several mainboards, different bios versions, etc.). Board will work under windows 98, however, we don't use this OS for security reasons.

I would suggest completely uninstalling NI-DAQ from your computer and reinstalling with the board out of the computer.

1 - Goto Add/Remove Programs and remove NI-DAQ 6.9
2 - Click on the Start button and goto 'Run'
Type in regedit to bring up the registry editor
Follow this path to the NI-DAQ folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> Software >> National Instruments >> NI-DAQ
Delete the NI-DAQ folder
3 - Download NI-DAQ 6.9.1 from our website
4 - Take out AT-MIO-16XE-10 board from computer
5 - Install NI-DAQ 6.9.1
6 - Put AT-MIO board back in computer
7 - Open up Measurement & Automation Explorer and see if it recognizes the board

Let me know if you still cannot get the board to work after this.

Brian, still no luck. The board appears in MAX, however if you browse to device manager, the second part of the board is not installed properly (has little yellow exclamation mark over it). I have assigned resources to it manually and got it to install (no little yellow circles), but MAX still does not like it. Board still appears in MAX, but does not work (crashes when a test panel is run). Can change isa slot, no difference. I am at a large loss, and fastly becoming frustrated.

The AT-MIO is a non-plug and play, so you have to install it first, alone. After you complete the install, you then have to re-install the Plug and Play drivers from your system CD. I encountered this same problem on my NT system. Then, if you have other NI plug and play type cards, you then can install them.

Hi! I'm having the same exact problem that you had. Did you ever fix the problem? If you did, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know how you did. Thanks!!!

Right-click the exclamation mark and select Properties from the shortcut menu.

Click the Resources tab.

Click Set Configuration Manually.

Remove the checkmark from the Use Automatic Settings checkbox.

Select Basic Configuration 0001 from the Settings based on pull-down menu.

Click DMA in the Resource Settings Window.

Click Change Settings.

Assign a value that does not have any conflicts. A message appears at the bottom of the screen if there is a conflict with the channel you selected.

Click the OK button.

Reboot the computer to allow settings to take place.
