I have a PCI 6221 working with a SCC 2345 front end. It works great in a 32 bit Dell computer running XP. The home office sent me a new computer (64 bit) that they 'rolled back' to Windows XP. The system was working until I loaded Auto Max. Now, even with the PCI 6221 not plugged in, the computer is locked up. I restored to a set point from before loading the software and with the card out, the computer booted fine. Can I load a version of XP that is 32 bit on a 64 bit Dell and have this all work?

Which driver’s version did you try to install?
Did you get any error or problem during the installation?
Here is the frequently ask questions about 64bits computers (LabVIEW 64-Bit vs. 32-Bit Applications FAQ), you should not have any problem running a 32bits LabVIEW program or VI in a 64 bits computer. Also check the drivers that you are trying to install if it is compatible with your operating system and the LabVIEW version. In the readme file you can also check if it is compatible your card for example this readme file (NI-DAQmx 9.6.1 Readme).

Esteban,
Thank you for the reply. The system reboots after the install of AutoMax. The computer comes up to the blue screen of death! I do believe the major issue here is whatever my IT folks did to bring this computer back to XP mode. I don't believe they cleaned the Hard drive clean of Windows 7 and they have used some other method to have it boot up in XP. I get these DOS messages (white on black) about booting. I believe that is the issue. I am sending the computer back to IT and suggesting strongly that they clean the hard drive completely and install an original Windows XP system. Microsoft is killing me. Most of my technical application software doesn't run in 7, doesn't run in XP compatibility mode! We are talking over $60K worth of software !

Esteban,
I should have told you that my code is written in LabVIEW 7.1.

When you get the computer back keep in mind the information of the following links and also that Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) is installed with my NI-DAQ and NI-DAQmx drivers, so I recommend that if you are still going to use LabVIEW 7.1 check which driver is compatible with your LabVIEW version, windows and DAQ drivers.
NI-DAQ and LabVIEW Version Compatibility (for Windows)
Windows Version Compatibility with LabVIEW

To All,
I downloaded the latest drivers that work with 7.1 and then carefully examined where to plug the card in my new Dell 7010. On first glance, there looks like three slots you can choose from. Not true. There is only one slot that is correct, even though the card will easily fit all three. System works fine!!!
