I have a DAQ PCIe-6259 in an older computer that has suffered a motherboard failure. I'm looking at building a new computer, but I'm wondering if I have to get a motherboard that has a dedicated PCIe x 1 slot or if I can put my PCIe-6259 into a different PCI slot? I'd also welcome motherboard/computer recommendations.
Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

It must be a PCI Express slot (not PCI), but it does not have to be a PCIe x1 slot; PCIe devices work in longer PCIe slots, they just won't use the additional lanes.

I appreciate your quick reply. I meant to be more specific and specify other high pin count PCIe slots, not the old PCI, but your reply is re-assuring. Is there any advantageous new features in motherboards that would enhance performance or stability of my DAQ 6259?
Many thanks!
