adapter for pcmcia daq card

I have a new computer that uses an express card, but my DAQ1200 is a PCMCIA card. Is there an adapter available?

Hello Quinby

I see you are needing a PCMCIA to express card adaptor. NI does not sell one as of now but there are some other companies that do sell them. Take a look at the link below:

Express Card to PCMCIA Adapter

I would also like to say that if your DAQ needs increase, NI has a great line of USB DAQ devices. This will allow you to use DAQ on any computer platform that has USB ports.

Please post back if you need any more assistance.

Hello Corby_B,

Thanks for the recommendation of the Duel Adaptor. Have you tried it with the DAQCard-6024E?

Best Regards,

Hello John,

To my knowledge, we have not tested any Express Card to PCMCIA adaptors.  In addition, we do not have any supported adaptors.  My guess is that this was simply an adaptor found by searching the internet.  I would make sure that the adaptor meets all of the specifications of the PCMCIA bus and the power requirements of the DAQCard-6024E before making your purchase.

Regards,

Paul C.

Here is a summary of what I found out:

a. Duel Systems Duel Adaptor works, but it is discontinued and there is no driver for Windows 7.
b. The Lindy 51355 adaptor does not work with DAQCard-6024E.
c. The StarTech CB2EC - have not tried this - do not know if it works.

Sorry this is not a positive recommendation, but I hope it is helpful. Please post here you find anything that is still available and works. We still have some customers who ask for this.

Best Regards,

John Sackett

To follow up, I ended up purchasing an Adapter for $40. It works great running on Windows 7 with a High Speed CAN card (PCMCIA-CAN/2 Series 2).
