ai trigger routing in the pxi-1045 and pxi-1044 chassis

Over the past couple years, I've never had trouble, at least no error messages, with slave analog input in slots 3 through 17  being triggered with the ai/StartTrigger from Slot 2.  Yet I've never performed any of the manual (via MAX) or programmatic (via VISA) trigger routing from bus segment to bus segment described in documents such as this or this.  These documents have me concerned now that even though I'm getting data I'm missing something...  Can someone please explain how my Slot 2 StartTrigger DigitalEdge signal is getting to the second and third bus segments if I've not explicitly provided for it?
Thanks!

Hey Bairoa!

How are you doing?  How your Slot 2 Timing card's trigger is getting to following modules is dependent primarily on what triggering bus you are using.  Are you using PXI STAR trigger? (equidistance trigger)?  PXI Trig lines? or PFI lines?  It seems like you are most liekly using PXI Star Trigger, as that is the only trigger that doesn't require manual configuration of the lines

"The Star Trigger in a PXI-1045 and PXI-1006 chassis is routed from this slot to slots 3-15. The last 3 slots of the PXI-1045 and PXI-1006 chassis do not have Star Trigger capabilities because the Star Trigger Bus is limited to 13 lines by the PXI specification."

Please tell me if this helps!  Thanks Bairoa!
