aquiring reading from watt-meter

hi there,

i have  DAQ-DMD-1608FS 8 channel 16bit analog input, usb based, the problem i'm facing is getting the reading of the watt-meter (digital watt-meter ISW 8001) the specs are ( output level- 1Vrms corresponds to 8000 counts/full scale) Accuracy +/-2% polarity: same as intantaneous power

i have attached an example of the code to obtain the reading of the watt-meter, is it possible to let me know is that the correct way to obtain the reading of the power, my reading  is almost the same reading as the watt-meter fallen between the range of +/-2%, and i dun know what does the 1vrms corresponds to 8000 counts/full scale really means, thanks alot i need some advice on this, or is there any better suggestions, thnaks again

Hello MJK,

When you noted which device you are using, I believe you meant that you are using the Measurement Computing USB-1608FS, is that correct? I cannot tell how you are addressing this device from the image you posted, are you using an MCC driver for LabVIEW? What is in the "AIn ScFg" sub-VI?

I'm afraid I am also having some trouble understanding what, exactly, you are trying to measure. It sounds like you are using an ISE ISW8001 power meter, like this. However, you mentioned that you are trying "to obtain the reading of the watt-meter". Are you trying to duplicate the reading that you are receiving on the power meter or are you actually trying to read from the power meter? Though I'm not  familiar with the instrument you mentioned, my understanding is that most power meters are used to measure power and do not generate power. Does this device have some sort of constant power it can generate as a calibration value?

For more help with Measurement Computing products, I would direct you to their support website here. In addition, measurement computing has its own discussion forums that you might find more helpful. You can find these forums online here. If you can submit some more details about your application, we may be able to help you out with the LabVIEW programming, but for questions about making measurements and hardware you should consult your hardware manufacturer.
