Can I upgrade the cDAQ OS from Windows 7 to 10? As I'm sure you're aware, January 1st 2020 Microsoft will stop support for Windows 7. My company has requested all cDAQ's me moved to Windows 10.

Hi JD,
The supported operating systems for the cDAQ-9133 are Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7) and NI Linux Real-Time. I believe you can upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Feel free to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter; if that doesn't work, I would advise contacting Microsoft as they will be more able to help with this.
Good luck! 🙂

NI only offers official support for WES7 and Linux RT on the 9133. Due to the limited 16 GB of storage on 9133, upgrading to Windows 10 will be a dicey proposition as minimum requirement for Windows 10 IoT (comparable to Windows Embedded Standard 7) 32-bit is 16 GB and for Windows 10 64-bit is 20 GB. And that is only Windows itself without any NI or third party software.

FYI, it is not much more, but cDAQ-913xs are using Windows Embedded Standard 7 (SP1), for which the end-of-support date is 10/13/2020.
