Looking to use newer cRIO-905x controller for a project. All modules will be operated in real-time (DAQmx) programming mode. Additionally, I will need several remote chassis for DAQ IO. Since I'm using the DAQmx programming mode, is it acceptable (or recommended) to use a cDAQ chassis (like cDAQ-9185)? The Newark tech. support engineer in India recommended a cRIO chassis (NI-9147) but it appears it only operates with Scan and FPGA programming modes.. neither of which I want to use.
Additionally, if cDAQ chassis is a good choice, then what is the best means of communication between cRIO controller and the multiple cDAQ chassis? In a NI Week video from a few years ago, it mentioned a daisy chain connection. The Newark engineer then mentioned an Ethernet device for a star-type connection.. don't know if he recommended a hub, switch, or router. If using TSN for synchronization, would one or the other be required?
Thanks in advance for assistance! I can no longer get tech. support on the phone at NI since they've gone to the Distributor model, so I'm scrambling to get answers for my system.

I would recommend reaching out to a local NI Alliance Partner to consult you on the choice of hardware to be safe than choose incorrect hardware. The answer you get on the forum is only as good as the details you're willing to share.
