compatibility labview 8.6 with daqmx 8.9.5

dear all,

i have a pc system with the labview 2009 professional development system installed and running.

i just recently installed labview 8.6 because of customer request. the daqmx driver didn't install because of the existing higher version of daqmx. still when running labview 8.6 no daqmx vis were available even after i copied the daqmx folder from labview2009/vi.lib to labview8.6/vi.lib. then i installed labview 8.6.1 persuming that my exisitng driver daqmx 8.9.5 is compatible with this labview version. still there are no daqmx vis accecable.

is the only way i can go from here is to uninstall daqmx 8.9.5 in order to be able to install the older daqmx versions?

suggests that the downcompatability should be working.

DAQmx 8.9.5 is compatible with both LV 8.6 and LV 2009.

However, the DAQmx installer will by default only install support for versions of LabVIEW installed at the time of install; you had LV 2009 installed when you installed DAQmx, so support was only installed for LV 2009.

If you rerun the DAQmx 8.9.5 installer (no need to uninstall first) with LV 8.6 now installed, you should get the option to add support for LV 8.6.
