computer freezes when running NI 7831R and NI 6701E applications simultaneously

I have an application that uses both an PXI NI 7831R FPGA card and an NI 6071E multi-function DAQ card.  I can run the application by commenting out either the running of the FPGA program or the configuration of the NI 6071E card.  The program runs fine.  When both cards are being used, the computer totally freezes up and I have to recycle power.

I'm using an 8186 embedded controller running Win 2000,NI PXI-1000B chassis, LV 8.6.

I isolated problem to configuring 7601 card for AI to use Sample clock.  This was not really required so setting to s/w timing fixed issue.  Still curious as to why this would cause processor to freeze?

Hello Craig,

I understand that you have an application which uses both the PXI-7831R and the NI-6071E DAQ board, and that when you operate both of them simultaneously, your computer totally freezes up, and the only way to unfreeze your computer is to cycle the power.  I'm glad to look into this problem for you, but I'll need to know some more specific information about your application first.  What does your program that uses both the PXI-7831R and the 6071E do?  Are you acquiring or generating analog data?  If so, what sampling rates are involved.  The more information I have about your application, the easier it will be to find the source of the problem.
