controlling a solenoid valve

Hello everyone.

I need to design a system where it is intended to control two solenoid valves (for gas flow of 5 lpm), one thermocouple and one humidity sensor. I have some queries in respect of the above:

1. Which solenoid valves would be ideal to achieve gas flow rates of 5 lpm.

2. Is if possible to use NI- USB 6009 to control the above system via PC or some other DAQ would be better

3. What additional devices are required in the above setup

I am looking for some preliminary info which would help me in getting started with the above project. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

to 1) Don't know ...
to 2) the 6009 will have limitations , no hardware timing for cotrol loops, can't read TCs, if it is an school or university projekt, have a look at the myRio. I'm not shure if it can read the TC directly, but you can easely connect a i2C / SPI TC conditioner IC.
3) you will need some external power supply vor the valves and a valve driver ( at least a transistor and a diode)
