distorted serial communication bus RS232

I'm using Labview for data aquisition from the power meter (ZES Zimmer- LMG450). There is already a lab view library for that power meter:

http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=CD2E1C74885B42AFE0440021287E6A...

The problem: in case of abrupt changes in the input measurements (current, voltage of the motor), this lead to "jitter" in the communication. Typically, I set the communication on 100 ms, on these switchng points the communication hangs and the time gap between two measurements reach 3.5 sec!!

I use Labview 2013, My VI is attached there.

Is this a problem with the driver used, should I build my own driver? is it PC hardware problem?is it power meter problem?...I just need a hint to know from where should I start??

Attachments:

1. The whole project is there, the concerned VI is "1.Main_V1.0".

2. The power meter driver, it should be extracted in this directory: <LabVIEW>\instr.lib

Hi!

To narrow down the problem you would have to look, where exactely this delay occurs.

There are tools to passively log the serial communication. It would be interesting if in case of the abrupt change the device stops sending or if it is your LabVIEW program that hangs.

Otherwise it seems odd that the results of a measurment determine the speed of the communication.

But, of course it´s difficult to know what a third party driver does,

Regards

René
