Hi Jonathan,
Here are several suggestions on troubleshooting this device.
1. Refresh MAX with F5
When you first install MAX there is a setting to automatically refresh or refresh manually, by default automatic is turned of
2. Check to see if the correct drivers are installed for your system. You are correct, for this device the drivers should be NI-DAQ 6.9.
3. Does the device show up in Windows Device Manager? If not, make sure that the device is plugged in correctly and check for any loose connections.
Please give these steps a try, post back if your still having issues. Best regards,

Hi Guys-
Actually, it is not possible to install the NI-DAQ driver (6.9.3 and earlier) in the same system as NI-DAQmx (7.0 or later).
One option would be to use the USB-6008 with NI-DAQmx Base for Windows, but a better option would be to upgrade the DAQcard-700 to a newer device that is supported by NI-DAQmx. For example, the DAQcard-6036E has enhanced functionality if you still need a PCMCIA-based solution, or the USB-6211 may be a good choice if you can switch to another USB-based device.
Hopefully this helps-

Hi Tom and Jonathan,
My apologies, I was thinking of our newer Traditional Ni-DAQ drivers (7.x or later) which can be installed on the same computer as our DAQmx (7.x and later). Our older drivers were called NI-DAQ and went up to the latest version which is 6.9.3. This is documented in the readme for DAQmx found here in the following statement:
"Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) has the same VIs and functions and works the same way as NI-DAQ 6.9.3, except you can use Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) and NI-DAQmx on the same computer, and some hardware and software is no longer supported."
Regards,
Paul C.
